So ... there's going to be a change.

I really haven't used this for anything at all in the last year, and had sort of come to accept the fact that I just Didn't use Livejournal anymore. After all, I don't write fic, my art is elsewhere, and who'd be interested in my random thoughts-on-nothing?

Honestly, I have no idea. But I recently just changed cities, started a new job, and figured: if I were ever going to write a blog/journal/keep a diary, now'd be the time to start. So I did. And I think, much to the shock-if-not-horror of those people who've had me unobtrusively on lists for a while, that I'll post it here.

Posts will be RL-related and obscure, because there are certain privacy things going on, and probably of very little interest to anyone. Still, it's my life, and I'll write about it if I want to.

So it begins. )

I'm beginning to wonder about this city. Life was going all wonderful and perfectly normal, and then my walk home was full of the crazy.

First of all, customers suck. Which should come as no surprise to me, given the amount of time I've wasted reading exactly how much that's true, but this is the first time I've ever actually seen that level of "srsly, wtf??" face to face. Or whatever.

Secondly, I just passed a man arguing with a tree. As in, full on red-in-the-face-gesticulating-madly arguing. He didn't seem drunk, or I would have run away very quickly, and there was no one else around. Just guy, and tree, and argument which he somehow appeared to be losing. Maybe he was a drama student?

In other news, which makes me kind of giggle, apparently the government of Peru forgot to pay its phone bill for a long time, and so when there was an earthquake they were unable to coordinate emergency measures beceause the line had just been disconnected by the telephone company. I heard this from my prof, who apparently heard it from his peruvian-ambassador-friend, so I wouldn't bet my first-born son on it (actually, given my family's tendency to only have girls maybe I would) but I kind of like that image.

Now off to watch Brothers and Sisters ... curse you, [info]wolfgrin, I did not need another new show.

I've helped add to these a few times on other people's journals, so I figured it was about time to put one of my own up. Either enjoy, or ignore.

1. Pick 15 movies you know/like/love.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

1. The King of Qin has summoned me to court, for what I have accomplished has astonished the kingdom.

4. My darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage!
5. By the way I couldn't help noticing on the FBI's rather dull public website that I have been hoisted from the Bureau's archives of the common criminal and elevated to the more prestigious 10 Most Wanted list.

9. Gentlemen upstage; ladies downstage... Are you a lady Mr. Kent?
10. That I have fought with myself over that night, one half of me swearing blind that I tied a simple slipknot, the other half convinced that I tied the Langford double. I can never know for sure. The Prestige [info]kuroilotus
11. Ah, how shall I do it? Oh, I know. I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless, little flea, and then I'll put that flea in a box, and then I'll put that box inside of another box, and then I'll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives... The Emperor's New Groove [info]catlein
12. It's an impressive read: bold, yet meticulous strategies. I love the one where you tried to figure out how to pinch the Stanley Cup. It's very... Canadian.
13. What are you waiting for? You're faster than this. Don't think you are, know you are. Come on. Stop trying to hit me and hit me. The Matrix [info]radiobroadcast
